Hi Loves!

It's been a hot minute since we did some fashion talk over here, so let's get back to it. Good news is that January marks the official beginning of awards season and there will be lots of material to work with. You guys have no idea how excited that makes me. I mean I take notes during red carpet, that's how serious this is. Also, Sunday is the Golden Globes (with Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler hosting) so be on the lookout for a recap of that next week.

Today's fashion hits & misses come to you from the People's Choice Awards which aired on Tuesday night. I didn't tune in (because Tuesday nights are for New Girl and Parenthood), but I did wade through the pictures and find my favorites and ohhh hail no's to share with you!

HITS

Taylor Swift in Ralph Lauren
You've got to hand it to her, she may not look very happy.. but break-ups do this girl good. She turned it out in this gorgeous white gown with turquoise accessories. Her hair sort of screams that this is the last thing on earth she wants to be doing, but if I was Harry Styles I would be regretting breaking up with that hot bod.

Lea Michele in Elie Saab
OMG. Love is not even a strong enough word for this dress! It's just so sparkly and pretty and perfect for this event. I'm not sold on the pink strappy heels because I think a tall pump would have looked even better, but we will let them slide because girlfriend looks amazing. Loving the braided hair, and her tan is on point. I could totally see Blake Lively in this dress too don't you think?

Rumor Willis in Alice and Olivia
More sparkles and more love! This dress looks amazing on her and I adore the whimsical aspect of this dress. Would this work for a more sophisticated awards show? No, but it's perfect for something low key like the PCA. I also love the pop of blue earrings and minus the piece in her face, her hair looks put together! I wonder what shoes she is wearing?

Ashley Rickards in Unknown
This one surprised me, but in the past this girl has had some bad red carpet experiences. This one works! It's the perfect white with her paler skin tone and I love the sparkle and geometric design. Do you guys watch Awkward? It's surprisingly good for an MTV show.

Mae Whitman in Unknown
I adore this girl and she looks about 100 times better here than she does on Parenthood. I think she is so cute and this is such a perfect LBD for someone young and fun like her! Since she is short, the nude heels are a perfect touch to add length to her legs and the peplum detail also makes her look taller as well as thinner. I want this dress in my closet!

MISSES

Jennifer Aniston in Dior
You know a dress is bad when it is unflattering on Jennifer Aniston of all people. The problem with leather is that it's a think fabric so it adds bulk. That's why it should always be form fitting. The skirt on this dress is just too poofy. Also does she own a bra? I'm leaning towards no.

Katy Perry in Valentino
This dress is oddly conservative for Katy Perry and I'm confused. I think I would like it better without the sleeves, but even then I'm not sure. Now that her hair is dark and one color, I'd like to her wearing more color since it won't be clashing. I think she's just trying to keep a low profile since she's still dating that skeeze known as John Mayer.

Julianne Hough in Tony Ward
This dress was on almost every one's best dressed, but I'm gonna have to disagree. I love the sparkle and I love the color. Everything else? Falls flat. I don't like the sleeves or the length because they scream old to me. If it was sleeveless and full length I would be jumping for joy. Now those shoes? I'd wear those everyday of the week.

Jennifer Lawrence in Valentino
Ew. Ew. Ew. This dress makes me cringe. It's like flapper gone bad. The top is so unflattering on her and the slit goes up past where she tried to self tan her legs. The shoes are too matchy. Snaps for hair and jewels though, from the neck up she looks fab.

Kristin Kreuk in Unknown
Do you know what this screams to me? Mother of the Bride. The color is all wrong on her and there is just too much going on! Sparkles and tulle are always a bad combo unless you're going to Senior Prom.. or The Bachelor. Also, her hair looks weird. Sorry Kristin, better luck next time!
