My obsession with Mean Girls lately just won't die. Sorry.
Anyways.. it occurred to me yesterday that we all lie about dumb things. I'm not talking about anything life altering, just the day to day fibs that slip out. Sometimes you can't help it, and sometimes you say one thing and do another.. it happens. We all do them. If you say that you don't.. well then you're lying.
"No really.. it's fine."
If you hear someone say this, it's say to assume that it's not in fact fine at all.
"Jersey Shore? No of course I don't watch that show, it's so stupid."
It's stupid alright, but if it's on at 3pm in the afternoon on a Saturday it's kind of begging me to watch it.
"These pants are kind of tight, but I'm totally going to lose five pounds so I'll buy them anyway."
Two years later and there they are.. hanging in your closet with the tags still on them. But you can't give them away because you've never worn them, duh.
"Ya, I'm totally on my way!"
You either forgot or are running late, but either way you don't want the other person to know it.
"I'm definitely going to get up early tomorrow.. do my hair, put on makeup, and look cute."
Yet when that alarm goes off at 6:00am, we always find an excuse to hit the snooze and roll out of bed 10 minutes before it's time to leave.
"I'm just going to go out for one quick drink and then go home."
4 hours later and you're hammered and having the time of your life.. until you remember you have to work the next day.
"I'm on a spending freeze right now."
Until you see that great skirt you've been waiting to go on sale.. hanging on the clearance rack. What spending freeze?
"I'll just do that tomorrow"
This one can be used for anything you don't feel like doing. Cleaning the house? Check. Folding laundry? Check. Going to work? Umm probably not if you want to keep your job.
"I'm only going to Starbucks once this week."
Until you find out that they are giving out two stars per skinny drink this week. Then it's Wednesday and you've been there twice. Oops.
"Oh her? Ya I love that blog!"
Oh come on. You know you've done it..

The first is the worst one for me. I'm not sure I really do much of the others but how much I say the "No really...Its fine" makes up for it.
Also, I'd totally outright admit to watching Jersey Shore(if I did, which I don't because I don't have cable) but like everyone watches dumb reality shows? So why lie? Right? And I love to watch some Real Housewives

Way to go calling every one of us out on all of our lies! Hahahaha. Except Jersey Shore. I openly admit that I watch it...mainly because it makes me feel a million times better about myself :) These are just too funny! I can't tell you how many damn clothes I have in my closet with the tag on them because "Oh I'll be wearing these in a few weeks...I don't plan on being this size forever." Rrrriiiiggghhhhtttt!
When I text someone that I'm on my way, it means my butt just hit the seat in my car, and my garage door is still going up. I probably haven't even started backin' that thang up just yet...ha.

I'm totally guilty on the "on my way!" one and buying something a bit snug. I have a gorgeous pair of pants from NY& Co hanging, tags on for that very reason. Le sigh...

hahaha!! I love this! I am so guilty of the attempting to get up and look cute and then snoozing 17 times (just take a look at my outfit today!) and the "one drink" situation. I think it's physically impossible to do that.

OMG I am so guilty of the smaller size clothing purchase. It was on sale, and I'll lose 5lbs next week, so I'm gonna buy it. And, sadly, yes. There it is in my closet in all its unworn glory.
Mean Girls will never, ever get old. One quick drink line is always the recipe for an eventful night... haha
Oh gosh.....I relate to basically all of these. Especially getting out of bed 10 minutes before I have to go. I get out 20 minutes before leaving, literally. And somehow manage to not look like total crap on most days!

I'll admit, I was totally reading each one and going "Yeah, I do this" Such an honest post! I think the one that gets me the most is trying to spend money, and then see an item I've been eyeing going on sale. Even if it's still a couple of dollars off, I always fall into temptation.

Yep, I have to say everyone of them except one is true about me. I do not have a desire to go to Starbucks for whatever reason! I always go downstairs in the concourse no need to go outside. And sadly I'm not wearing anything but pink tinted Nivea Pearl lip gloss.
