A Single Girls Valentine's Day

Hi Love Muffins!

It's Thursday (wahoo), but it's also the national holiday of love. If you're a single girl, then you know that blog world will be filled with girls loving on their boyfriends or hubbys. No offense to all you happily taken girls, but to some of us.. your true love might sting a little bit today. Never fear, because I am here to bring the single ladies something different.

This may come as a surprise to some of you, but truthfully I can only think of one or two Valentine's Days where I was taken, and you know what? That doesn't bother me at all. I mean think about it.. when it comes down to it its just a made up holiday that focuses on love. So why not show it to yourself?

Here's what I plan to do to make sure that Valentine's Day is just as enjoyable single as it is with a love interest.. and no it does not involve watching Magic Mike, crying, or eating a pint of ice cream.

one. Order a heart shaped pizza.

Okay to be honest I've never actually ordered one of these, but it's on my agenda for tonight. As a single girl, you should steer clear of all restaurants. You don't want to see all of those couples sitting in candlelight, loving on each other. Also, cooking is prohibited.. you are pampering yourself after all.

two. Pour yourself your favorite cocktail or wine.

This step is imperative. You are probably going to go on Twitter or Instagram at some point this evening. You'll see red roses, chocolate, and other romantical things. If you're holding a glass of wine or a vodka soda, you can take a sip and I guarantee that feeling of jealousy or sadness will subside. It's just logic. Also, I find that listening to some of your favorite 90's songs really helps you keep the good mood alive as you're sipping your beverage! I had Spotify on last night, and somewhere in my 90's dance party I switched it to SClub7 and then OTown.. which might have been the best idea ever. I'm not sure it's possible to be in a bad mood while listening to those songs.

three. Check out Style.com, it is New York Fashion Week after all!

Okay this step is really optional here, but it sure makes me happy. I mean.. swoon. If I was wearing this Marchesa gown on Single Valentine's Day I can guarantee that I would be as happy as Honey Boobs was with her gay pet pig.

four. Pamper yourself! Paint your nails or put on a face mask.

If you think you might see another human being? Stick with painting your nails. If there is no chance that someone else will see you and be terrified? Work that face mask girl. Doing something nice for your appearance will be sure to give you a little extra pep in your step! You can check out my heart mani here, or the face mask above happens to be my absolute fave. You may look like a lizard for 30 minutes (Hey Florence did last weekend!), but it works like magic!

five. Watch your favorite movie while cuddling with your cute-as-a-button fur child.

I recommend sticking with something funny and good mood inducing. If you watch anything that was inspired by a Nicholas Sparks novel, you will probably fall into a deep depression. I plan on watching Mean Girls, She's the Man, or maybe even Alpha Dog (Justin Timberlake, duh). The fur child is optional but it does help to have something to love on. Maybe you can borrow one from a friend?

six. Make yummy Valentine's treats for your coworkers!

When Valentine's Day falls on a weekday, you risk having to listen to your coworkers talk about all of their plans. Here's a hint.. scour Pinterest for some kind of festive yummy treat. When they are eating said treat, they can't brag about their evenings or their gifts. It's a win, win for everyone.

Inspiration:

Mine:

This was one of the easiest Pinterest projects I've ever done and I can't wait to give these to my coworkers.. mostly so I don't eat them all my self. But seriously, the hardest part was unwrapping all of the Hershey's hugs and making sure I didn't leave them in the oven too long. If I can do it, you can do it.. I promise you that!

I hope that these tips help all of you single ladies survive Single's Awareness Day Valentine's Day, and if they don't.. it's just 24 hours. It will be over before you know it!

In college my sorority besties and I would go every year for heart shaped pizzas at Hideaway. We would ditch our boyfriends if we had them and just hang out with our girls eating heart shaped Hideaway pizzas. Those boys learned quickly that it's way more fun to spend this dumb holiday with girls.

your pinterest goodies are so much better than the ones on pinterest. truth. Here's what we'll both be doing tonight.... drinking, reading style, and drinking.

My favorite part about this whole post? The Whitney gif. Best one ever.

Even when I was in relationships, I just thought that Valentines was overdone. Too much pressure ya know? And now that I'm going on my xth year as a single, well now I really hate it. Can we all just pretend it's a regular Thursday?

That gif. I just can't even... so many laugh tears right now. Also, I probably look like that on a regular basis and just don't know it yet.

Seriously, every time I look, more laughter. I love you lots and lots and want you to be my Valentine! :)

That pizza looks delish! Maybe the bf will skip the dinner plans and we can stay home with one of those!

Question: Does that Aztec Healing Clay actually work? Do you see any results from it? A friend of mine has it (and has for awhile) but she's never used it.

I LOVE THIS. I may be taken, but I'll probably be using some of these tips tonight, too. No big plans for the evening...just cooking some dinner and catching up on DVR. How romantic, right? Oh, and I'm definitely making those Valentine goodies later today to take to work tomorrow (since I'm off today.) My mom makes them on the reg, so I'll be partaking today, for sure! Hope your day is fabulous, hot stuff. You're my favorite. I'll be ya Valentine :) Oh, and let's get to planning our big meet up! I need this to happen this year!

I want a heart-shaped pizza! And you won't be accidentally seeing any mushy stuff from me because neither of us are very into this holiday. In fact, we made no plans. We both forgot.

Vday is ridiculous. Hated it when I was single, hate it now that I'm married.

I saw your heart pizza on IG last night, loved it! We don't have a Papa Murphy's. Sad times.
