Fashion Hits & Misses- 2013 SAG Awards

Hi Bunnies!

Yesterday was probably the best blogging day ever. When I posted about the giveaway I did not expect the outpouring of love and the most sincere comments ever. I was sitting at my desk, choking back tears and so overwhelmed. I truly appreciate all of your heartfelt responses, they really made my week! I will most likely keep it open until Monday if you haven't had a chance to comment. I can't wait to pick up some goodies this weekend for the winner!

One of my favorite things about hearing what ya'll loved, was that so many of you mentioned my fashion recap posts. They are some of my favorites to write so I'm thrilled that you like them. I'm going to do my very best to do one every week or so. Fingers crossed!

Last Sunday was the 2013 SAG Awards and even though I didn't tune in, I made sure to catch up on all of the dresses the next day! Here's who I thought were the best and worst dressed of the bunch:

HITS

Amanda Seyfried in Zac Posen
For starters, this girl never ever looks bad in anything. She is so flawless. I am so happy that Zac Posen is doing something different than the structured gown we've been seeing so much of (cough*Kelly Osbourne* cough). The flow of this dress is incredible. I'm having a crush on navy lately so this whole thing is perfection! Also love the long necklace and can I have her hair please?

Lea Michele in Valentino
So happy to see Lea wearing something that isn't full on sexified. She looks so gorgeous in this full gown! The bottom ruffle is a little off for me, but the overall look is so perfect that I'll ignore it. Loving the straight hair and bangs too. Also, note she's not spray tanned within an inch of her life. You go girl!

Giuliana Rancic in Max Azria
Thank you fashion gods for this ultimate redeem from the Golden Globes for Giuliana. That look was so bad in so many ways and she just came back with a vengeance. Loving everything blue lately so this color is gorgeous and I dig the curly faux bob. Length is a little off I think and she needed more jewels but its on the right track. So glad to have this lady back in the hits!

Katrina Bowden in Badgley Mischka
This is one of those dresses that I'm sad is not Marchesa because it's so pretty. Again with blue but in a pastel shade and I adore it just as much. The detailing on this gown is TO DIE FOR and the mermaid bottom is not too dramatic and it works so well. Oh, and hey those arms? I'll take those too. Side note: does this girl kind of look like Max's twin? Kinda?!

Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab
I missed this girl on the red carpet. She always kills it! I mean is it not enough that she has a smoking hot boyfriend? Apparently not. I do have to say I don't love the choice of hair or jewels but the fit is so perfect on this gown that I can't not love it. Ps. Who watched Vampire Diaries? Is she not kind of the most annoying girl on that show?

I mean clearly the colors to wear on the red carpet were blue and pink right? So excited for Spring colors! Seeeee ya Winter, you can leave now!

MISSES

Julianne Moore in Chanel
There is just nothing cute about this look! I mean that top is so ill fitting it looks pretty terrible and well hey there flat tatas. I don't want to hate on Chanel but if this dress was fitted better and on someone younger it would probably be okay. The white clashes with her skin tone and let's be more age appropriate next time shall we Julianne?

Sofia Vergara in Donna Karan
This just makes me sad because she's so gorgeous, but I'm so sick of this same dress every time only in a different color. Normally she looks incredible but I want to pull and tug at this dress to make it even. It's a little all over the place. She also needed to accessorize better. White, white, and white.. give us some pizazz girlfriend!

Anne Hathaway in Giambattista Valli
I don't mean to be a broken record but in my mind, the red carpet should always be full length. I have seen very few dresses over the years that can pull off anything different. There is just something very awkward about this look that I can't quite put my finger on. It might be the short dress with what looks like a tulle skirt over it? It might be the hair and the pose? It might even be the fact that Anne made me so uncomfortable during the Golden Globes that I can't look at her the same way? You decide.

Claire Danes in Givenchy
Another swing and a miss for poor Claire. It takes some fashion disasters for me to honestly say she dressed better while pregnant than now. This is just all around not a good look. The one sleeve is very vintage and not in a good way, in a 2000's kind of way. The fit is also not flattering and the pattern freaks me out. Also, that hair and lipstick? This time I think the 90's is saying please leave that look in the past.

Kaley Cuoco in Ramona Keveza
Oh my, where do we begin? The ever so awkward length of this gown? Did the designer run out of fabric or measure her height incorrectly? There has to be an explanation. That hair.. please tell me there is another explanation. Her hair fell out and the only wig she could find was one of Kim Zolciak's rejects? I'd like to have a sit down with her and find out, but she's probably in hiding after seeing these photos. I would be!

MARCHESA

Naomi Watts
One word.. Flaw-less. I love Marchesa and they can do no wrong but I would have loved to see this in a jewel tone. Also, Naomi does not age. She is so gorgeous!

Who were your hits & misses from the SAG Awards?

Lastly, I leave you with this..

because nobody knows why Justin Timberlake was even at the SAG Awards but hey he was happy to see Anne Hathaway win I think? That fake smile makes me think either they once hooked up and it was weird, or Jessica Biel has some beef. We'll probably never know!

Have a great weekend love bugs, and see you Monday for Weekend Update!

OMG! As always, I totally agree with all your comments! I can't decide if Amanda, Giuliana or Katrina is my favorite... I think Katrina. LOVE that dress.

Also - I literally LOLed when you said Kaley was wearing Kim's wig. SO FUNNY and so true. That is some BAD hair!!

No shit (can I cuss on your comments?) someone emailed me yesterday asking me where my twin was. I debated sending him a picture of Amanda Bynes... but I like Katrina better. Also, the kim wig comment. Yes, yes, and yes! I'll probably laugh about that the rest of the day.

Holy photoshop, Batman. Since when does Sofia Vergara have skinnier arms than Giuliana Rancic?? Also-- she's got way more curves than that pic! And I seriously gaped at Kaley Cuoco's dress. Who did that to her??

So, the picture of JT made my Friday, so thanks for that. And um, what in the world...I think whoever styles Kaley Cuoco hates her. This makes me so sad for her.

You nailed it, my friend! I'm obessessed with navy too. Amanda Seyfried and Lea Michele were my favs too!

I want to be Katrina Bowden. Also, you are obsessed with navy because it is one of my wedding colors. Riiiight? Right.

Amanda Seyfried is my FAV ever, love her and her hair but hey girl - yours is basically amazing, too ;)

Couldn't agree more on Kaley Cuoco. Ouch! That hair looks ridiculous! & her dress? Blehh.

All I want in life is that Elie Saab. Okay I guess any Elie Saab will do, but that was just perfect.

Poor Jennifer Lawrence. Everyone talking about her "wardrobe malfunction" (mesh paneling showing) and not her navy dress. Which was pretty but not nearly as gorgeous as Amanda's.

Kaley...FIRE YOUR STYLIST NOW! From the hair to those god awful (satin dyed to match) shoes.

Justin seems to have forgotten this was a formal event. But hey maybe he just wandered in...SAG crashing anyone??

haha so on point! Nina Dobrev is totally gorgeous and I love Vampire Diaries, but I agree, her character is so whiny/borderline self-loathing. As for Sophia Vergara, my mom's theory is that as she got more famous, she got less attractive..who knows?
Looking forward to your Oscar recap!

I totally agree w/ everyone on both of your lists. Really sad that Anne and Claire looked so bad. I swear Clair didn't even brush her hair. I never understand how the nominated ones can look terrible when they are offered dresses very every hot designer!

You DO have Amanda's hair, stooopid! :)
