What Happens in Dallas, Stays in Dallas.. Unless You Have a Blog

Hi Bunnies!

Remember when I skipped off to Dallas, TX for a little vacation? Well it's time to recap my fun little spontaneous trip!

You see lately I've been thinking about how awesome it is to be 23 with no attachments (besides work and Lily of course) and that I really need to take advantage of being young and fun. So when my college BFF Jen mentioned the Lady Gaga concert in Dallas.. I went straight to search for flights. When I stumbled upon a flight to DFW for $108 I knew I had to make it happen. So I did.

I flew in on Friday night and Jen's husband picked me up from the airport and soon we arrived at their gorgeous apartment in the heart of Dallas. After an outfit change and some makeup touch ups we were off to dinner at Chuys in Uptown.

Jen and I know each other from school, an internship, and then work in college but I haven't seen her much since graduation in 2010 (besides her amazing wedding in Breckenridge in 2011) so it was great to catch up and remember how much fun our friendship is.

After dinner it was off to Deep Ellum to meet the my bunny Helene at Black Swan Saloon. I'm not sure that this has to be stated, but I was so excited to meet Helene! One of my favorite parts about blogging is the friendships and after commenting, tweeting, texting, snap chatting, and facebooking I was so ready to meet this girl, and there were zero nerves just plain excitement. Of course, we hit it off and thankfully so did the friends we brought along. It felt like we had all known each other for a long time and it was a blast. I can't wait to go back again soon! She is funnier, sweeter, and prettier (if all of that is even possible) in person than she is via blogging and I love her to pieces. Homegirl is stuck with my for life whether she likes it or not ;).

After a few drinks with our favorite hottie bartender Gabe, we headed off to the next bar Knox Street so Helene could get her dance on. I can tell you first hand that girlfriend is not exaggerating, she has some sweet moves! I had been up since 5am, worked, then traveled so I was a bit lame and never made it out to the dance floor. I hoped that I didn't disappoint Helene too much! I took a pretty awesome video of her doing the wobble but I think that's better left to the imagination. Sorry ya'll!

Saturday I was up and ready to see my BFF's. My two best friends who you might remember from this post, both relocated to Dallas in the new year so I was beyond excited to spend time with them. When you live far away from the people who make you happiest, you get way too excited over a day of drinking, laughing, and just being together.

Our first stop was in Plano to have brunch at Sambuca 360, mostly because of the giant sign outside that advertised $2 bloody marys. Yes, please! After brunch we went back to Uptown to hangout with some other friends at a bar called The Nodding Donkey. They served beer and drinks in mason jars and I was kind of obsessed. I loved catching up with everyone and there's nothing better than falling right back into old routines even when it's been months since you last saw each other!

Our marathon of day drinking continued into the evening when we went to McKinney Avenue Tavern and Katy Trail Ice House. Unfortunately, I was having way too much fun to remember that Katy Trail happens to be Sean Lowe's hangout and I didn't even think to look around for him. I was so bummed the next day!

Sunday should have been a day of recovery, but there was no time for that because Sunday was Blogger Brunch day! I dragged my hungover butt in the shower so that I could look presentable to meet some of my favorites. Jen and I headed to Breadwinners in the Northpark Mall to meet up with Helene, Amber, Sarah, Lia, and Max. It was a blast. I talked way too much I'm sure, but I think everyone had a great time laughing and sharing stories.. or at least they did a great job pretending ;) I am so glad that everyone was able to make it and I was happy to put some blogs to some real life faces. Thanks for coming girls!

After brunch, Jen and did some shopping and then headed to Sprinkles for some cupcakes! Later that night, I met back up with my bestie Katie for dinner and a movie. We saw Django and it was interesting to say the least.

Monday and Tuesday consisted of relaxing, wine drinking, and chatting with my bestie Alex before she had to take me back to Jen's so we could get ready for the LADY GAGA CONCERT! Jen lives across the street from the American Airlines center where the concert was, so we had plans to walk over right before the show started. We were so glad, because there was a crazy storm just hours before the concert. We felt so bad for all the little monsters who were standing outside in the rain!

The concert was a blast but it was bittersweet because I knew the next day I had to go home. My flight at 7:30 am came way too early and I was sad to say goodbye to my friends and one of my favorite cities! I moved to Dallas for the Summer back in 2011 and I really miss it. I may just have to start job hunting so I can get my butt back there. We shall see!

Jen, Helene, Katie, Alex, and everyone else.. Thanks for a great trip. See you all soon!

Have ya'll ever been to Dallas? Do you love it as much as I do?

Sounds like you had the best time! And I love how you got to get together with your blogging friends!...Something I would love to do one day. And geez, $108 for a flight...I would take that almost anywhere. Well not really anywhere but you catch my driff.

I'm totally bummed I wasn't invited to the Dallas blogger meet-up (okay, to be fair, I'm not in Dallas, but I totally would've driven to see y'all!), but it looks like you had a blast! Also, I'm pretty sure it's not allowed to have so many ridiculously good looking women in one blog post. Just saying. ;)

Here's what I love from this post: your $108 flight, your leopard shoes, reminding me that Black Swan was once mistaken for Black Shawn, the fact that you made an effort to see all your friends (that's a legit good friend, lady gaga of course, and finally, the blog brunch. and NO you didn't talk too much and I'm sorry I touched your hair like a freak... but it was just really pretty. Ok. this comment is too long.

Do you KNOW how often Taylor & I fly to Texas to see his family? DO YOU KNOW what we pay for flights? Hint: It's not $108!!!! Ok..I'm gonna go finish the post now.
