Stop What You're Doing and Go Meet a Blogger

Hi Loves!

Last week I talked about how hard it is to make friends as an adult, and there was an amazing response from other bloggers who feel the same way. I can't even explain how awesome that was for me, to write a open and honest post and find that other people felt the same way! If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, there are some great ideas in the comments.

One of the greatest things that has come from blogging for me, is the friends. Yes it sucks that they don't live in the same state as me, but they are always there via text, gchat, skype or snapchat and I'm thankful for them everyday. They make that difficulty of finding friends in Denver feel way less terrible!

Today though.. I want to talk about traveling, and how if you get the chance to meet a blog friend you better say yes so fast that it makes your head spin. I've been on three out of the state trips since I started blogging and on all three I was able to meet (or stay in a Chicago mansion) with bloggers I had previously only interacted with via the computer or the phone! Not only do I not have a single regret from those meet ups, but now I'm obsessed and wanting to plan trips to meet as many of my blog friends as I can.

Oklahoma

In October, I took a trip to see my BFF's in Oklahoma and to go back to our alma mater for a football game. While we were tailgating before the game, Lyndse from Blonde Oklahoma Girl and I were able to meet up and hug, laugh, and most importantly talk blogging. If you've met a blogger, you know that its just not the same to talk anyone else about blogging. They just get it. Unfortunately, Lyndse hasn't blogged in a few months but I hope she's back soon!

Chicago

The first time that I planned a trip solely around meeting and staying with people I had never met in real life. Dana from Bloom and Inspire (formally five30three) was my first real blog friend and this meet up was months in the making. We finally planned a trip for the last weekend in November and to say it was fun is an understatement! I was also able to meet and spend time with Chris, Paige, and Mary. I'm already thinking about planning my next trip, but I think that this time it will be in Summer when it's warm, although also humid.

Dallas

Just about a month ago I planned a trip to see my best friend Jen in Dallas. I knew that while I was there I had to hang with Helene (of course we hit it off and of course I love her to death), but I also decided to throw together a brunch so that I could meet some other bloggers as well! It was a blast and I was so glad that it worked out. The best part is that Max, who doesn't even live in Dallas happened to be in town and was able to come. Now I consider her one of my great friends. It's the crazy things like that that make blogging and meeting bloggers so worth it!

Next on my list is a BFF trip with Whitty, Brookie, and Ty Face because if it doesn't happen soon than I'll cry and also be convinced that they are catfishing me. Just kidding, I've Skyped/FaceTimed/Snapchatted with all of them so I know they are real!

I know I'm not the only one who feels this way because I've seen other bloggers plan trips to see their blogging friends and love it just as much as I have. Cough* Katie and Steph or Kait and Sarah *Cough and I think they would all vouch for me when I say that if you get the chance, do it!
Have you ever traveled to meet a blogger or would you?

That seems like so long ago that you were here. Jacob would love to have you back as our houseguest...or permanent au pair...whenever you'd like! Can't wait for our fun summer adventures. Love you, my first and forever bloggy friend!

Yes yes yes!! Two years ago, I flew to Dallas to visit my BBF (best blogger friend), and during that trip, I met my now-husband. True story. So yes, everyone should go visit bloggy friends. Who knows what can happen!! :)

You are so lucky to have met some other bloggers. I too have had a difficult time making freinds as an adult. Please feel free to share your wisdom!

So far I've been able to meet up with one blogger that doesn't live too far away from me and we had such a blast! I seriously cannot wait to get together with her, and to meet other bloggers!!

How fun to meet fellow bloggers! Mini-celebs. I'm also a blogger in Denver! Just recently a new follower of yours. Maybe one day we will meet up for cupcakes and wine!

I love meeting bloggers. I met a girl here in Chicago and we ran together, and I've been to Nashville to visit a bunch. So far, it's been worth it!

I still can't believe we drunkenly ran into each other at Murphys and didn't think to take a picture (or a shot, ha)! That just means you'll have to come back for another game :)
I've yet to meet any other Oklahoma bloggers online or in person, so I have my fingers crossed that happens!

First off- WLFEO I didn't realize you were an ADPi till I went to your linked post! <> <3 <3!!
Anywho- I can ABSOLUTELY relate to your previous post. I graduated last May and have been struggling a lot with going from being super social sorority girl to like, getting excited to Skype with my boyfriend and Friday nights with Netflix. I'm glad you're sticking your neck out and finding opportunities to meet people. Anytime you come back to Chicago, you'll have a sister to meet! :)

I love to travel and still have half the US to see so meeting up with other bloggers would be such a fun way to tour a new place and make a new friend. I've gotten so many travel ideas from reading about other blogger's trips or just about things they do where they live.

Ok, you've convinced me to break out of my shy shell! :)

Uh...We could travel to Cherry Creek mall and meet each other! : ) I have never met any blogging friends, other than my real life bestie, which obviously doesn't count. I think it's awesome that you traveled to meet your bloggy friends!

This makes me want to go out and meet all my bloggy faves! But they all live so far away. SAD.

The best online dating site in my experience would have to be www.globogirls.com It's got members from all over the country, and you can search by general interests, and I've met two as friends, this third one though..WOW! Early days, but we are really hitting it off. She shares my love of backpacking, motorcycle riding and Asian food. It's the best online dating site where you can find someone who likes you for who you really are, not some random pick up site.
